our selfless families

What I thought would be a very relaxing day...turned into a very busy one instead. Just the other day Tyson and I were talking about what we still needed to get done on the basement before we move in, and when we mentioned laying tile my sweet Uncle Lane and his son Derek volunteered to show us how it's done. And I'm so glad they did because the area we they were able to knock out in one day would have most likely taken us a few days if not a week to finish on our own.

The fist step was to lay it all out and pick what design we wanted. Which turned out to be very hard for me because I'm so OCD and can't be decisive ha!

Even Aunt Shirley came to supervise

Send step was cutting the tile, which Tyson has many battle wounds to prove he did it. Third step was actually laying tile which doesn't sound that hard, but if you look at Tyson's body language he might beg to differ.

Before and After
and the final result with the carpet :) I just LOVE it!

Last week We also had help from Shauni and Ethan with painting baseboards, casings, and doors. My dad hung all of the doors and my Grandpa Oliphant is helping us nail in all the casings and baseboards to finish it off. With all this help we'll be ready for the carpet, and maybe even have time to spare! They're a little odd, but good painters so we'll keep them ;)

Tyson is smiling because we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I've learned through this whole moving/renovating ordeal that we have such great, hard working, selfless family members!

And I couldn't even begin to name all of the other family members who have helped in many countless ways with our quick move, basement renovations, and now housing us homeless bums. Ha! We are definitely blessed!

up to date

Tyson has been working for the past 1 and a half years at Beehive Rental, an equipment rental company in St. George and has recently been promoted to Yard Manager. He is such a hard worker and i am so proud of him. Meanwhile I am currently a Medical Assistant and the Callahan Clinic just down the street from Tyson's work, where i have been for the past 2 and a half years. Although it feels much longer. We have both been blessed with such great jobs.

Tyson and I were lucky enough to find a couple leaving for a mission the same month we got married so for the first year of our marriage we got to live in a nice little home in Sky Mountain. It was such a nice home to start off our marriage in.

We are currently finishing Tyson's parents basement (more to come on that later), so for the time being we are bouncing back and forth from his parents to my parents. Luckily they both have spare rooms for us to stay in until we finish.

As I mentioned before, this has been the most busy year of my life thus far, and here are just a FEW pictures to prove that....
We welcomed Skyler and Melissa's newest
sweet baby Carolee. Isn;t she just the cutest thing you've ever seen??
Tyson got hit and totaled his geo only 3 months after our car got backed into, which happened to be 3 months before we totaled my car. Lets just say we have all the luck when it comes to car accidents.
Tyson and I got our very first Christmas tree as a married couple
Shauni and I had our "Golden Birthday"
(we turned 21 on the 21st)
Shauni got MARRIED!! :)

I found a new obsession...err, I mean hobbie ;)
Tyson and I adopted 2 Babies!! Okay so it was baby pigs, but aren't they so adorable when they are small?!
Not only did I get to graduate with my best friend....

but i got to graduate with my hubby, Shauni, and Colton! :)
We all got our Associates that day...

So far life has been full of up's and down's, but mostly up' and I owe it all to my Savior. I don't know what I would do without the Gospel in my life. I am so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Without the power of the Atonement I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't have the family I have, or the wonderful relationships I have with each and every one of them, including the family I was fortunate enough to marry into. I am truly blessed.

Most of my blogs wont be this long, but I thought that for my intro it would be acceptable to include all of this. I'm sure I spelled words wrong, rambled, and probably didn't even make sense at times, but down the road these are the things i want to remember.

our love story

Tyson and I knew each other and were actually "friends" in high school. It lasted for a little while, but eventually we went our separate ways. While Tyson served his mission in the Canada Calgary Mission I finished high school and started college. Shortly after Tyson returned we ended up playing futsal (indoor soccer) on a weekly basis with a group of mutual friends, which then lead to us dating and just under a year later we were married on March 23rd, 2013 and it was the happiest day of my life! I couldn't have married a better man. I definitely married up!
